Hi Baby Boomers,
I will be turning 60 this year and I am semi-retired. So I qualify as a Baby Boomer and am writing this blog for Baby Boomers.
My Real Job
I have run my own Computer Network Consultancy Business for many years and wanted to slow down and change direction. I thought starting an Internet Business would provide me with both mental stimulation and a small income.
My First Internet Mistake
My first venture into making money on the Web was a financial disaster. Read Baby Boomer Loses $18,500 on First Internet Business Venture to find out what I did wrong.
Then I spent an awful lot of time trying to make my original ideas work just to prove a point I think. After a year I abandoned my original ideas and then spent many hours trying on the Internet looking for I don’t know what!
Finding Out What I liked To Do
Over time I found out what I liked and more importantly what I didn’t like. I didn’t like trying to create hundreds of AdSense sites, or trying the generate Google cash as an income, or Affiliate marketing. I found it was a constant battle to keep up. I tried them all and have the bruises to prove it. I am the sort of person that likes creating something and developing it over time. I believe many Baby Boomers may fall into this category. So it was this that made me start Blogging.
I Found That I liked Blogging The Most
I beleive that Blogging is by far the best way for Baby Boomers to develop their presence on the Internet at this time. Like most Baby Boomers, I have plenty to say on a range of subjects, at least that’s what my wife keeps telling me! I also have some skills I have picked up over my working life. These are ideal topics for creating Blogs.
What Do You Use when Creating A Blog?
I have developed this Blog to show Baby Boomers what works to create a Blog as a platform. The aim is to provide a tightly focused system using only a handful of FREE or reasonably priced products to help Baby Boomers create their own Blogs using Word-Press. I will try to stick to just these products rather than keep reviewing the latest products. It is only by concentrating and applying consistent methods that you can stop being concerned with the tools and start working on the content. Once you learn to drive a car you forget about the pedals and just drive. The same needs to happen with your Blog, or it will all get too hard and too time-consuming and give up.
You Must Get The Foundation Right
The biggest problem I found when starting out was trying to decide what to use to create and manage my Blogs. If you follow my lead you will have Blogs that work and you will be able to concentrate on writing about your knowledge, skills, hobbies or interests to add value to your Blog. That is the key to generating income from your Blog.
Concentrate On Adding High Value Content
Once you start adding high value content to your Blog and use some of the FREE social power-linking techniques you can learn from Jack Humphrey, Sam Clark and other clever people your Blog will get ”noticed”.
Using Social Power-Linking To Market Your Blog
As you add more valuable content and market your Blog through more social linking and bookmarking you can become an authority on your chosen topic. Once you become an authority your Blog can start to give you an income through the Blog itself, or through consulting projects, or even speaking engagements if you like. The sky is the limit as your audience is in the billions. You just need to be consistent and focused and work at it over the long term. If you enjoy what you do it will not be a hardship.
How I Use The Tools As A Complete Blog System
I will show you how I use the tools I have chosen to Brainstorm, Project Plan, Create FREE Reports and eBooks on your skills and knowledge that you can sell once you have established some credibility with your Blog.
This is my Plan, why not join me.
